Alexandra Lappa
Drone Show Animator, Storyboard Artist & Illustrator
Hello,
I am Alexandra, an animator, designer, and illustrator based in Wiltshire, UK.
My work bridges the worlds of 3D animation and live events, combining technical precision and vibrant creative storytelling. Since 2021, I’ve been animating and designing for large-scale drone light shows that have illuminated skies across the globe.
I have fallen in love with creating atmospheric stories for both screens and skies, blending my knowledge of animation, art, and technology to craft unforgettable experiences.
From my early work at drone show company Celestial Labs, to my current role at HVN Labs, I collaborate with directors and clients to design drone light formations, choreograph flight paths, and bring memorable concepts to life using game engines (such as Unreal Engine and Unity), bespoke drone show animation tools, traditional art skills and of course my experience from live events.
I thrive in the fast-paced world of live events and immersive entertainment. Being part of an industry driven by innovation, collaboration, and spectacle constantly inspires me, and I love learning from the incredible creatives around me.
This environment has shaped the way I work, adapting quickly, delivering under pressure, and paying close attention to every detail, where creativity, precision, and safety all go hand in hand. Whether sat at my computer designing and animating or hands on at a site, I strive to make the show an unforgettable experience for all.
Alongside my work within live events, I also love to draw and paint! I create character designs, storyboards, and build visual worlds for screen-based projects, such as short films and even Christmas Cards!
Whether for screen or sky, my goal is always the same: to create work that sparks emotion, captures attention, and leaves a lasting impression.
I hope you enjoy looking through my work as much as I enjoyed making it!
